Mission Action Plans

At the heart of Living God's Love is a request to parishes to undertake a process of Mission Action Planning.

A period of looking, listening, reflection and prayer leads into a time of planning and prioritising; seeking, with the Spirit’s guidance, to discern both a vision and also a course of action. Typically that course of action might have five year priorities and yearly goals.

It is suggested that parishes will benefit greatly from the advice and reflections of a Mission Accompanier in that process.  There is more information on this website.

Key resources can be downloaded using the links on the right hand side:

  • A Guide to Mission Action Planning in the Diocese of St Albans
  • A Guide to Mission Accompaniers
  • A short PowerPoint introduction to MAP
  • MAP Record - a form to help you through the process
  • MAP Summary - a short form to use to submit your MAP

Please note.  You can upload your MAPs directly.  See under the MAP's tab. You will need a code which you can get by emailing MAP@stalbans.anglican.org

To download the MAP Summary form please click on the link on the right hand side.

Further downloads and more information can be found in the Resources section of this website.

Please note that Parish MAPs need to be sent to Bishop Alan by the end of April 2012, i.e. after the APCM.  The easiest way to do this is to enter the MAP online in this website.

A MAP is a tool for the journey; it’s a map, if you like.  Sharing our MAPs will enable us to learn from each other, to focus resources and to develop strategy so that we can more fruitfully, imaginatively and joyfully walk the journey together.
